Gene Ireland Beef Panels Autumn 2022

ICBF and the program partners, have recently launched the exciting new Gene Ireland panel of high index beef bulls for Autumn 2022. The Gene Ireland breeding program is a joint initiative between pedigree breeders, commercial farmers, breed societies, AI Companies, DAFM & ICBF. The primary aim of the program is to robustly progeny test high index beef bulls which will produce profitable cows for the suckler beef industry. The minimum criteria for a bull to be included on the panel is 5 Stars across breed on either the Replacement or Terminal Index. (more…)

Under 7 weeks Remaining in the BEEP-S & Dairy Beef Calf Programme

The deadline for weighing animals as part of the BEEP-S and the Dairy Beef Calf Programme is fast approaching. Animals in both Beef Sector Efficiency Programmes must be weighed before November 1st.  The weight data recorded should be submitted to the ICBF database within 7 days of the weighing event. (more…)

Below is a list of the sires with the most serves recorded during the first 6 months of the year (01/01/2022- 30/06/2022).  The results are based on the analysis of insemination data collected from AI technicians linked to the ICBF database, through their AI handheld system.
