Calving 2026 continues to ramp up this week with a big increase in samples received in the lab. Over 20k in 1 day.
Last week’s figures
- 40,729 calf samples were received in the lab.
- 26,602 calf samples were processed in the lab.
- The average time from birth to the sample being received in the lab was 7.3 days.
- The average time a sample spent in the lab last week was 4.4 days.
- The average turnaround time from birth to passport being issued was 13.1 days. Down from 14 days the week previous.
As calving continues across the country, we encourage all farmers to post DNA and BVD samples regularly to avoid any potential postage delays.
