The HerdPlus Service has introduced a new summary section within the Dairy Genomic Results Profile. This Dairy Genomic Results Profile is now accessible to all dairy and dual dairy HerdPlus herds.

The updated summary profile enables dairy farmers to review genomics results at the herd level, with an emphasis on demonstrating the advantages of genotyping. It displays the herd’s EBI figures before and after genotyping, allowing farmers to assess the effect on the overall Economic Breeding Index (EBI). The profile is divided into the following three sections:

Herd Genomic EBI Results

This section presents the current herd EBI figure, changes in the herd EBI (whether an increase or decrease), improvements in herd reliability and the proportion of the chosen group that has been genotyped. The genomic data provided varies according to the animal group selected, for example, dairy cows or 2026 born heifers.

Dairy Genomic EBI Graph

The graph displays significant variation in EBI among individual animals following genotyping. Animals are arranged based on their Genomic EBI, from lowest to highest. It presents both the current non-genomic EBI and the new genomic EBI. By hovering over the graph, users can view the animal number as well as the difference in EBI. The results depend on the selected animal group. This graph makes genomic information more accessible, allowing farmers to easily view dairy genomic evaluations at the herd level.

Genotyping Parentage Results

Genomic data enables verification of parentage, sex, and assessment of breed composition. This section presents the parentage, sex, and breed verification outcomes for the most recently genotyped group within the herd, such as heifers born in 2026. National average figures for each metric are also provided, allowing for straightforward benchmarking of your herd against the national statistics.

This profile includes a button that links to the existing genotype results screen for individual animals. The Dairy Genomic Results Profile helps farmers review genomic evaluations, identify top-performing animals and make more informed breeding decisions.

Some useful benefits to the farmer when using this Profile screen include:

  • Access a specific animal result quickly and easily.
  • Animals can be sorted and filtered within the profile, with column data arranged in ascending or descending order by clicking on the column heading.
  • Profile can be downloaded to Excel and PDF formats.
  • Click on the blue figures to view additional information on the animal, including Lactation Summary, Fertility and Ancestry data.

The Genomic Results profile is available to all HerdPlus Dairy farmers and can be accessed online:

  • Log in to your HerdPlus account at www.icbf.com
  • Under the ‘View Profiles’ drop down, go to ‘Dairy Profile’
  • Select ‘Genomic Results’ to open the Dairy Genomic Results Profile.
