ICBF has added a new update to the martboard screens to make it clearer to identify whether an animal has a genomic evaluation or not. We hope that this update will rule out any confusion for herd owners who are looking to purchase 4 or 5 star genotyped animals at the mart.

Figure 2. Updated Mart Board displaying ‘Genomic Eval – No’ at the bottom right hand corner

Previously, where an animal was being sold with a genomic evaluation, the martboard was displaying “Genotyped: Yes”. Where it was being sold without a genomic evaluation, it was showing as blank.

Now, where an animal is being sold with a genomic evaluation, the martboard is displaying “Genomic Eval: Yes”(Figure 1). This new improvement will also show a “Genomic Eval: No” (Figure 2.) message to make it clear that, while the animal may be 4 or 5 stars, it does not have a genomic evaluation.
