ICBF is delighted to announce the latest update to the HerdPlus App, bringing farmers new tools and enhanced functionality to support better breeding, herd management, and record-keeping.

New features now available:

  • Major Gene Profile
  • Notification Centre
  • Calf Genetic Defect Recording

Together, these updates provide farmers with greater access to genetic information and a more streamlined user experience, helping them make informed decisions on farm every day.

Major Gene Profile: More Genetic Information at Your Fingertips

The new Major Gene Profile allows farmers to view important genetic traits identified through genomic testing, including major genes such as myostatin and polled status.

By making this information easier to access, farmers can gain a deeper understanding of the genetic makeup of their animals and use it to support breeding and selection decisions.

Benefits include:

  • Improved visibility of key genetic traits
  • Better-informed replacement selection
  • More confidence when planning matings
  • Enhanced herd genetic management

How to access the Major Gene Profile

  1. Open the ICBF HerdPlus App
  2. Select Profile
  3. Tap Major Gene

New Notification Centre

Staying on top of important herd events and actions is now easier than ever with the introduction of the Notification Centre.

The Notification Centre provides a dedicated location where farmers can view and manage notifications from across the app in one convenient place.

Whether it’s an important reminder, herd-related alert, or status update, the Notification Centre helps ensure that nothing goes unnoticed and that key actions receive timely attention.

How to access the Notification Centre

  1. Open the ICBF HerdPlus App
  2. Tap the alarm bell icon in the top-right corner of the home screen

Record Genetic Defects in Calves

The latest release also introduces the ability to record genetic defects in calves directly through the HerdPlus App.

This new feature provides a simple and structured way to capture genetic defect information as it occurs, helping to maintain accurate herd records and supporting long-term genetic improvement.

How to record a genetic defect

  1. Open the ICBF HerdPlus App
  2. Select Record Events
