Schistosomus Reflexus
Twin calves born. One calf exhibited Schistosomus Reflexus while the other was normal.

Schistosomus Reflux is a gruesome defect that looks very similar to the effects of Schmallenberg virus with the calf being born with it’s internal organs on the outside. The hindquarters of the calf are twisted up towards the head and all of the internal organs are exposed because the abdominal wall is open. These calves are usually born through cesarean section because of how they are twisted.
