A big thanks to everyone who entered a cow into our Suckler Cow competition. The results are now available!
Given the number & quality of cows that were entered into the competition – it was virtually impossible to pick a winner. A panel of 12 cows which represent the majority of beef breeds in Ireland have been selected so as to show that suckler cows with great milk & fertility exist in every breed.
Cows were selected based on their €uro-Star Indexes, calving & progeny performance records, as well as their appearance.
All of the other cows who were entered into the competition will be profiled on this website over the next 12 months – as an expression of our thanks to their owners for entering them into the competition.
As many of the cows as possible that were entered into the competition will also be featured in the upcoming Herdplus Journal which will be posted out to all Herdplus members shortly.
