ICBF is delighted to be acting as a mentor organisation in this year’s Certified Irish Angus Schools Competition.
As part of the programme, ICBF will work closely with Edward Moore and Daniel O’Neill from Ard Scoil na Mara, Tramore, supporting them throughout their competition journey and providing insight into the work carried out by ICBF to support the Irish beef industry.
Through the mentorship programme, the students will learn how genetics and data can improve beef production, including the role of the Commercial Beef Value (CBV) in identifying cattle with greater profitability and market potential.
Supporting initiatives such as the Certified Irish Angus Schools Competition provides an excellent opportunity to engage with and encourage the next generation of talent within the Irish beef sector. ICBF is proud to play a small part in helping young people explore opportunities in modern beef production and the wider agri-food industry.
