The SCEP weighing deadline 2026 is fast approaching. Farmers participating in Scheme Year 4 of SCEP must ensure that all required weights are submitted to ICBF by 5:30pm on 1 November 2026.
If you have not yet completed your weighing, now is the time to take action. Demand for weighing scales increases significantly as the deadline approaches, so farmers who need to hire or book scales should plan ahead.
SCEP Weighing Requirements for 2026
For Scheme Year 4 of SCEP, farmers must weigh at least 80% of eligible calves born, up to their reference number, and submit these weights by 5:30pm on 1 November 2026.
1. Key Weighing Requirements
When completing your SCEP weighing, remember:
- Calves must be over 50 days of age.
- The cow and calf pair must be weighed on the same day.
- Weights should be submitted within 7 days of weighing.
- A registered weighing scales must be linked to your herd on the day of weighing.
- All weights must be submitted to ICBF by 5:30pm on 1 November 2026.
2. Check Your SCEP Weighing Progress
Once you have submitted your weights, you can monitor your SCEP weighing progress through your ICBF account.
Go to:
Services → SCEP → Herd Summary
After submitting your weights, always check that they are valid and correctly recorded.
3. How to Register Your Weighing Scales for SCEP
You can register weighing scales through your ICBF account.
If you own your scales:
Services → SCEP → Weighing Information → View/Register Owned Scales
If you are using third-party scales:
Services → SCEP → Weighing Information → View/Register Third Party Scales
Booking Weighing Scales Through Your Co-op
If you are hiring a weighing scale through your local co-op, you can make an advance booking online through ICBF’s Weighing Scheme.
Once your booking is completed, the relevant scale registration details will be automatically assigned to your herd.
4. How to Submit SCEP Weights to ICBF
You can submit SCEP weights:
- Online through your ICBF account: Services → SCEP → Weighing Information → Record Calf and Dam Weights
- Through a farm software package
- Using the official SCEP weight recording form, available on request from ICBF.
Farmers should submit their weights as soon as possible after weighing to help avoid delays or errors.
