Teagasc Advisor, Christy Watson recently presented a paper at the recent IGA Beef Conference held in Kells, Co.Meath with the title ‘The ICBF Terminal Index – driving profits in a finishing system’. His analysis on the cattle killed out of a Finisher farm in Kildare found that the cattle with the higher Terminal index values had significantly higher daily liveweight gains, resulting in less days to slaughter and significantly reduce costs.
