New beef Euro-Star evaluations have just been published by ICBF. This will see the Euro-Star indexes for all suckler cows, heifers, stock bull and AI bulls updated. The Animal Search, Active Bull Lists, Stock Bull Finder, sales catalogues and all online profiles have now been updated with the new evaluation figures. Data submitted to ICBF between 28th July 2017 – 24th Nov 2017 has been included in this evaluation run. Table 1 details the number of records included in each trait and the extra records included since the Aug 2017 evaluation.

Data recorded after 24th Nov 2017 will be included in the April 2018 evaluation run.

Changes to Euro-Star figures

The latest run has seen very little change to the average Replacement and Terminal indexes of AI bulls. The average AI bull’s Terminal Index has remained virtually unchanged while the average Replacement Index has increased by €1.68.

Beef Percentiles (Euro-Star cut-offs)

There has also been little change in the Euro-Star percentiles. Table 2 and Table 3 detail the new Euro-Star percentiles for the Replacement and Terminal Indexes respectively.
