Who’s this years most heavely used sire? The dairy and beef sires with the most serves recorded so far in 2018 are listed below.
From Table 1 above, the most highly used dairy sire so far this year is FR2239 (IG) DIAMOND ANTON. ‘Anton’ has 39,055 AI handheld serves recorded so far this year. This does not take into account DIY serves so his actual usage will be higher in reality. Second on the list is FR2298 (IG) OLCASTLETOWN RONALDO. There have been 38,804 AI handheld serves recorded from ‘Ronaldo’ so far in 2018. Third on the list is FR2385 (IG) NEXTGEN YKG CANDY 593. ‘Candy’ has 29,649 AI handheld serves recorded so far in 2018.
From Table 2 above, the most highly used beef sire so far this year is Hereford sire HE2043 SOLPOLL 1 KENTUCKY KID P HYF. ‘Kentucky Kid’ has 21,475 beef AI handheld serves recorded so far this year. This does not take into account DIY serves so his actual usage will be higher in reality. Second on the list is Limousin sire ZAG Castleview Gazelle. ‘Gazelle’ has 18,892 beef AI handheld serves recorded so far this year. ZAG was progeny tested through Gene Ireland Beef in 2014. Third on the list is AA2123 CHRISTON ELTON P623. ‘Elton’ has 13,775 AI handheld serves recorded so far in 2018.
