Herds in SCEP and not NGP can now log in to their ICBF account to select the animals they wish to genotype for year 4 of the programme.
The self-selection facility can be found by logging into your ICBF account and going to Services>SCEP>Self-Selections. A herd’s reference number and genotyping requirement will be displayed.
The animals currently selected for genotyping will show in the Selected tab. Extra animals will show in the Available tab. Animals that are not available for genotyping will appear in the Not Available tab.
If a herd wishes to change an animal, you can click DESELECT and select an alternative animal from the list that appears.
If a herd is happy with their selection, they can hit “Happy with Selection.” This will confirm the list of animals to be sent to your tag supplier for printing and posting. These can take 2-4 weeks to arrive on farm.
If a herd has an existing tag supplier selected, this supplier will remain the default. If the herd wishes to change their tag supplier, they may do so by going to SCEP>Services>Change Tag Supplier.
Herds must ensure that the animals selected will remain on farm to take the sample.
Herds have until 3rd March 2026 to amend their selection. A herd can also defer their tag selection until 1st July. For queries please
