Suckler Carbon Efficiency Programme (SCEP)

SCEP is an agricultural scheme with the objective of providing support to beef farmers to improve the environmental sustainability of the national beef herd. The programme aims to build on the gains delivered in recent years through the Beef Data and Genomics Programme (BDGP) and the Beef Environmental Efficiency Programme (BEEP).

SCEP will centre around four mandatory annual actions, which include a replacement strategy, genotyping programme, a weighing measure, and data recording.

Full details of the specific requirements under each of the actions are set out in the SCEP Terms and Conditions

National Dairy Beef Weighing Scheme

The objective of the National Dairy Beef Weighing Scheme is to enhance decision-making on farms by providing more accurate data on herd performance. This scheme aims to improve the economic and environmental efficiency of beef production from the dairy herd, while promoting further integration between the dairy and beef sectors by offering support to farmers raising progeny from the dairy herd.

There is only 1 action required under the scheme – weighing of eligible calves and submission of weights to ICBF

Full details of the scheme are outlined in the Terms and Conditions below
