Dereskit Invincible has a terminal index of €133 @ 74% reliability on his latest genomic proof (December 2017). Genomics increased Invincible’s reliability by 21% when he was initially genotyped in 2016.

Progeny from Gene Ireland bulls were recently slaughtered after completing a feed efficiency trial at the Gene Ireland Progeny test centre located in Tully, Co. Kildare. Among the animals on test during this trial period were two sons of DBF. These animals were slaughtered at 20 months of age and were out of CHxLM and CHxHE dams.

The steers had a dry matter intake of 13.43 and 13.58 kilograms and recorded an average daily gain of 1.11 and 1.49 kilograms/day. This equates to a feed efficiency of 12.1 and 9.11 respectively.

The steers’s initial live-weight were 636 and 606 kilograms. They had a final live-weight of 718 and 716 kilograms respectively and a carcass weight of 404 and 411 kilograms respectively. This equated to a kill-out percentage 56.3% and 57.4% respectively, carcass conformation of R+ and U- and a fat score of 3+ and 4- respectively.
